01 Cohort Members

The inaugural Foundation Readiness Program Cohort group was chosen from the 54 individuals who participated in the Entrepreneurship Workshops in Accra, Ghana; Lagos, Nigeria; and Nairobi, Kenya, last March and stood out for their demonstrated entrepreneurial traits, business acumen, and commitment to their communities.

DAMILOLA IYANU ADEKOYA

Damilola Iyanu Adekoya is the founder of DiA Design. She has always had a passion for fashion design, which was encouraged by her resourceful and creative family. Despite starting with limited resources, she began her fashion journey during her National Youth Service by hand-sewing unique pieces and building a loyal customer base in her community. Damilola envisions DiA Design as more than just a local success story. She wants to use it as a platform to showcase the beauty of Nigerian culture and values to the world.

Damilola’s dream is to expand into mass production and offer services like embroidery, not only benefiting her own business but also supporting other small enterprises. However, Damilola’s vision extends beyond fashion. She is dedicated to creating a positive social impact by providing jobs and training opportunities for the younger generation. She notes that, with the right support, DiA Design can become a leading force in promoting Nigerian fashion globally, representing Nigeria’s rich heritage and vibrant creativity. Damilola is optimistic that with the support of Africa 2100, she can make a difference and take Nigerian fashion to new heights.

FREDERICK ADJEI

Frederick Adjei graduated from Bluecrest University College in Ghana, specializing in Information Technology. He is well-known for his love of coding and creating mobile apps. One of his notable accomplishments is the development of the “Chale Keyboard,” a popular app that combines functionality with a user-friendly design. You can find this app in the Play Store.

However, Frederick’s goals extend beyond personal success. He is committed to building a community of tech enthusiasts and providing mentorship and resources to aspiring developers. He believes that by working together, we can have a positive impact on the tech industry. Frederick is seeking assistance and support to further enhance his influence and contribute to a brighter future through technology, one line of code at a time.

ALEX AKPADE

Alex Akpade is a determined entrepreneur from Ghana who has a strong desire to improve the poultry farming industry. He has a degree in Business Administration and practical experience in poultry farming. Alex grew up in a farming community which gave him a deep understanding of agriculture. Now, he wants to use that knowledge to create something extraordinary.

Alex is seeking support from Africa 2100 to overcome the initial challenges and obstacles that stand in the way of his dream. With their assistance, he hopes to obtain high-quality equipment, establish suitable housing for the birds, and acquire top-notch livestock. He believes that Africa 2100’s entrepreneurial expertise and guidance can help him maximize productivity and efficiency, ensuring that his farm reaches its full potential. Alex’s ultimate goal is to build a sustainable enterprise that not only provides fresh and healthy produce to the community but also contributes to economic growth and creates job opportunities.  

VERONICA ENYAAH BOMAH

Veronica Bomah has faced many challenges in her life, such as a broken home and abusive relationships. These challenges have tested her strength, but she has became even stronger and more determined as a result. Veronica’s journey became more difficult when she experienced menopausal issues that she didn’t understand. The symptoms of this condition made her feel overwhelmed and hopeless, but she persisted and refused to let despair win. Through research, persistence, and personal experience, she learned the importance of education and support in overcoming menopausal depression.

Now, Veronica is on a mission to raise awareness about perimenopause and support women facing similar difficulties. She hopes that with support from Africa 2100, she can reach more people and provide important resources to women in need. Her goal is to help break the stigma surrounding menopausal syndrome and empower women to take control of their lives.

GEORGIA P CLARKE

Georgia P. Clarke is an international student who loves technology and entrepreneurship. She wants to make a positive impact in her community and beyond. She has studied Information Technology and Computer Networking to become skilled in these areas. Despite facing challenges like a heavy workload and finding a place to live, she remains determined to succeed. Georgia is inspired by her upbringing and wants to empower others. She engages with her community to understand the struggles and dreams of fellow entrepreneurs.

Georgia’s goal is to inspire the next generation, especially women, to pursue their dreams and overcome societal limitations. By creating opportunities for herself and others, she is working towards a future where innovation and empowerment thrive. Georgia is seeking help to fulfill her vision of establishing one of the largest IT companies in her country and Africa as a whole. This will drive economic growth and technological advancement.
