Background: Africa is home to a large, growing population of young people, with more than 375 million expected to enter the job market by 2050. Currently, unemployment rates are alarmingly high, ranging from 30% to 65% of those eligible to work. This youth unemployment crisis is compounded by limited opportunities for entrepreneurship education and access to resources. Small businesses already contribute 60% of jobs and 50% of GDP in many African countries. However, there is an urgent need to expand this sector to accommodate the growing labor force and alleviate unemployment.

Africa 2100’s primary focus and investment is in the individual who will subsequently get the capability to execute their business venture. This will be aspiring entrepreneurs that may only have an idea but are at a loss for how best to advance it or may not have the wherewithal to do so.

The Ask: We are seeking support to cover the training costs for 25 selected participants in our intensive Foundation Readiness Program.

The program costs range from $600 to $750 per participant, providing 3 to 5 months of comprehensive training to empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, mentorship, and resources they need to create sustainable impact.
