✨ Introduction
On October 18, the Africa 2100 Foundation Readiness Program (FRP) will spotlight visionary young founders driving Africa’s sustainable and inclusive transformation. From clean energy to circular furniture economies and digital infrastructure, these entrepreneurs are building ventures that address real-world problems — and reimagine Africa’s future.
Here’s a closer look at the founders and ventures featured at this quarter’s FRP Venture Showcase — where purpose meets innovation.
🪑 Collince Ouma Migire — OUS Flex Furnitures (Kenya)
Turning waste into sustainable opportunity
From Voi, Kenya, Collince Ouma Migire is redefining sustainability through design. His venture, OUS Flex Furnitures, transforms waste into beautiful, eco-friendly furniture — providing affordable home solutions while creating jobs for local youth.
Since launching, Collince has:
- Established partnerships with local artisans and waste collectors
- Opened a showroom in Voi
- Generated over KES 290,000 (USD 2,232) in sales
- Built assets worth KES 607,100 (USD 4,670) and equity of KES 585,852 (USD 4,506)
With goals to serve 10,000+ households, create 20+ jobs, and recycle 200+ tons of furniture annually, OUS Flex is not only profitable — it’s purpose-driven.
💬 “True innovation is not measured by profit alone, but by the lives it transforms and the communities it uplifts.”
— Collince Ouma Migire
Now seeking: seed investment, sustainable manufacturing mentors, and distribution partners.
⚡ Michael Mengo — Soleil Energy (Kenya)
Empowering communities through affordable, clean energy.
From Nairobi, Michael Mengo is lighting up homes across Africa — sustainably. His venture, Soleil Energy, is making clean cooking and power solutions affordable and accessible to low-income households. Built on a community-first model, Soleil Energy taps into local manufacturing, eco-friendly technology, and digital outreach to drive long-term impact.
To date, Michael’s team has surveyed over 300 local households, with 80% expressing interest in adopting his clean-energy products. With a prototype currently under development (targeted for completion in August 2025), Soleil Energy is poised to redefine how African homes access clean energy.
💬 “True change starts when we equip people to become problem-solvers in their own communities.”
— Michael Mengo
Now seeking: early-stage funding, technical mentors, and distribution collaborators.
💻 Michael Ndue — HardTech Solutions (Nigeria)
Powering Africa’s software growth
In Abuja, Michael Ndue is bridging a major gap in Africa’s digital ecosystem: affordable, reliable laptop access for startups and developers. His company, HardTech Solutions, offers subscription-based laptop services — including maintenance, repairs, replacements, and upgrades — all backed by tiered service-level agreements (SLAs).
By combining affordability, authenticity, and proactive maintenance, HardTech Solutions helps businesses reduce downtime and focus on growth. Michael’s vision is to make high-quality IT infrastructure a standard, not a luxury, for Africa’s tech innovators.
💬 “I believe in the freedom of choice for software companies, startups, and developers to access flexible, affordable, and authentic laptop services needed to drive business excellence.”
— Michael Ndue
Now seeking: early-stage investment, mentorship, and partnerships with tech infrastructure players.
